Jermaine Defoe and James Milner finally helped a poor England reach the next level. it took a cross from Milner and there was the Liberator Defoe. England World Cup campaign didn’t start as they would have wanted with a series of bizarre performance with two draws and a win over Slovenia. Defoe who have been the shadow of Rooney and other English strikers finally set his marks by giving the victory to England with a well deserved goal for the three Lions. His goal came from the under pressure Milner who made a bad start to his World cup and finally got substitute before the end of the first half against the USA.
The draw against USA and Algeria were subject to a bizarre team selection which made the English Fan questioned Fabio Capello‘s ability as a Top Manager. Capello’s (picture above) salary alone is the combination of at least four top managers of great teams so he had to show at least some dignity in the last game and make the goals happen otherwise the door was certain for him unlike France who take years before firing “un incapable”. Marcelo Lippi of Italy with 3.000.000€, Joachim low of Germany with 2.500.000€, Berter Van Marwijk of Holland with 1.800.000€ and finally Vicente del Bosque of Spain with 1.500.000€. Hopefully now he can’t think of going to soon on holiday on those beautiful Sicilian resort.
With the moral support of David Beckham on the bench to boost the team spirit maybe Fabio Capello actually took some lesson from him and decided to drop (flop) Aaron Lennon who should have never been in the first place on this team before Theo Walcott but i guess he needed to go to Spec Savers before the ultimate selection of the team. He finally played James Milner on his favorite position and he was supplying crosses i mean quality crosses just as those of the magnificent Becks and finally England made the break through. Shame that Slovenia had to go out but i would have fancy USA to go through anyway rather than Algeria.
Here in Paris i had to watch the Algerian game over the English game and i was left fuming when i found that out and it was a boring one. I missed my English team and finally found a program on the internet with a really poor quality but i destroyed my eyes just to have a glympse of true people who understand the value of wearing the national shirt unlike shameful French team.
This Group C is over and my two favorite teams made it through, Vive les trois Lions. Panijo i dedicate you this post 😉
